Sell to cafés, restaurants and shops

The cafés, restaurants and shops you supply order from your drops like everyone else. Here is how to mark them, price their orders and make them on top of what your storefront sells.

  1. Their orders go into your drops

A café, a restaurant or a shop that takes your bread, cheese or veg every week orders like a regular, only more. Its order goes into the drop it’s made for, so production counts it with everything your storefront sold, and you make one batch for everyone. Every shop can add such an order, give it a price of its own and make it on top of its stock. The Business customers add-on keeps track of who’s a business, what each one takes and what it paid.

  2. Switch on “Business customers”

In “Settings” → “Add-ons”, turn on “Business customers” under “Add-ons you can switch on”. Its choices appear in “Customers” and “Orders” straight away. To switch it off, use the same switch and confirm. Your businesses keep their mark and their company’s name, and your lists still show them, but you can’t mark any more, and the production list stops showing what businesses take. You can switch it back on at any time.

  3. Mark a customer as a business

Open the customer in “Customers” and tap “Edit”, or start with “New customer”. Switch on “This is a business” and type its name in “Company”. The name field becomes “Contact name”: the person you deal with there. Your lists then show both, the company first, with a “Business” pill, and the “Businesses” chip lists every business you supply. Searching for the company’s name finds it too.

  4. A tax ID and an address

“Tax ID” and “Address” are optional. Fill them in when the business wants them on paper: both print on the “Order slip” of each of its orders, the 80 mm slip on the order’s page, after the company and the contact. The hint under “Tax ID” says what a business in your country calls it, such as its CUI in Romania or its NIF in Spain. Every slip says it isn’t a tax invoice or a fiscal receipt: TwistDrops never issues invoices, and the VAT guide covers what you issue.

  5. Add its order

On the business’s page, tap “New order”, and the order starts with the business chosen. Pick the drop it’s for, then add the products. A drop you’ve published takes an order from the studio until its pickup day is over, even after reservations close. Save the order as “Confirmed”, and if the business has an email, it gets the confirmation with the order’s pickup code.

  6. A price of its own

Beside each product, the price field shows the drop’s price. Type another, and that line takes it, for this order only. When it’s lower, the order’s page shows the usual price beside the line and “Discount included” under the total. Every shop can do this. With the add-on, a product you add to the business’s next order fills in the price the business paid for it last time, with “Same as last time” under it. Only a price you typed is remembered, never the drop’s.

  7. On top of your storefront’s stock

Say a drop has 30 veg boxes on your storefront and a restaurant takes 10. Counted in the stock, its order leaves 20 for everyone else. Switch on “On top of the storefront’s stock” over the order’s products, and you make the restaurant’s 10 extra: your storefront keeps all 30, and nothing in the order runs out. Production and the pickup list count the order like any other. Every shop has this switch.

  8. See what businesses take

With the add-on, “Production” says how many of each product are for businesses, on the page and in its PDF, and the pickup list names each business by its company. On a business’s page, “What they take” shows each product and how many it took on each of the last 8 drops it ordered from, the newest first. If a business orders the same every week, the Repeat orders add-on can add its order to each drop for you: its guide shows how.
