TwistDrops 2.0

Room to grow

TwistDrops stays simple: plan a drop, let your regulars reserve, and make exactly what’s ordered, with no setup fee, no monthly fee and no fee on orders paid at pickup. This release adds what a busier shop asks for next, and you switch on only what you need.

Switch on what you need

Most of what’s new is an add-on. A shop that doesn’t want one never sees it. Switch one on in “Settings” → “Add-ons” and its pages and choices appear in your studio. Switch it off and they go, while everything it made stays. The add-ons you switch on yourself cost nothing today.

More than one pickup point

Sell from the bakery all week and at the market on Saturday. With Multiple pickup points, you name each place your orders are collected, tick the points a drop is collected at, and customers choose theirs when they reserve. Once you connect Stripe, each point can be paid its own way. Until reservations close, a customer can move their order to another of the drop’s points, and you see the change on the order.

Someone else at the counter

With Pickup helpers, you invite the people who hand orders over for you: a partner café, the friend who runs your market stall, family on a busy morning. Each gets an email invitation for the points they look after. On their own phone they scan pickup codes and mark orders picked up, and see nothing else: no customer’s email or address, and none of your notes. Each order says who handed it over.

Cafés, restaurants and shops

Any order you add yourself can now have its own price, and it can come on top of what your storefront sells, so your regulars can still reserve every loaf. With Business customers, you also mark a customer as a business, with its company name and, if you like, its tax ID and address. Their next order starts at the prices they paid last time, their page shows what they take from each drop, and the production list says how many are for businesses.

The same order, every week

For the café that takes twelve sourdoughs every Friday: with Repeat orders, you save a standing order once, and each time you publish a drop on one of its days, its order is there. Skip a day, pause it or stop it when plans change, or repeat a single order on another drop. Nothing repeats on its own: your drops still go out only when you publish them.

Payments online, for every shop

Every shop can now let customers pay when they reserve, on Stripe’s page or with Apple Pay or Google Pay where their phone or browser offers it, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Add your tax details and connect Stripe in “Settings” → “Payments”, then choose: at pickup, online or either. You can also ask for payment online above an amount you set. A paid reservation is confirmed at once, and if you cancel it, the customer gets their money back.

Orders paid at pickup carry no fee, as before. On orders paid online, our fee is 3% of the first €1,000 (£850) your customers pay online each month, 1.5% of anything above that, and never more than €49 (£42) a month. Your customers never pay a fee. Any offer open to your shop, such as months with no fee, shows in your studio next to our fee, before you connect Stripe.

How online payments work

VAT, at your own rates

This one isn’t an add-on: every shop has it. If you’re registered for VAT, set your own rates in “Settings” → “VAT” and give each product its rate. Your prices include VAT, and customers see “Prices include VAT”. The VAT per rate stays with you, on each order slip and in a monthly report for your accountant. Your legal name and registered address, from “Settings” → “Tax details”, show in your storefront’s footer and in every email about an order.

Also new

  • Sale prices

Tick “On sale” on a product in a drop, and your storefront crosses out its price beside the new one. The crossed-out price is never above the product’s lowest of the last 30 days, the EU’s rule for price reductions.

    Plan a drop
  • Pickup hours

Give a pickup an end as well as a start, in the drop’s “Until”, and customers see the hours they can collect.

    Plan a drop
  • 23 languages

Your storefront and every email your customers get now speak 23 of the EU’s languages. Publish one in “Settings” → “Languages”, and customers who read it see your shop in it.
